On Living Life

long-road-ahead

YOU DON’T HAVE TO LIVE YOUR LIFE THE WAY OTHER PEOPLE EXPECT YOU TO.

– Chris Guillebeau –

I spent the last 45min reading a mind-blowing report titled “A Brief Guide to World Domination,” sent to me by my friend, Max. (Thanks, Max!)

Although I don’t agree with the author on all fronts, I have to admit, it has really got me thinking. Particularly the author’s view on pursuing a healthy disregard for convention thinking, along with two questions he asks each reader to genuinely answer (#1: What do you really want to get out of life? #2: What can you offer the world that no one else can?). And let’s not forget the fact that he mentions what is needed to fulfill the answers to the above mentioned questions: “relentless passion,” “a very specific goal,” and a “compelling story.”

With that said, I think I know what I’d like to get done before the start of the new year. First, to answer question #1, I’ll try to picture what my perfect day would look like from beginning to end, including only what I’m really, REALLY passionate about doing. Then, I’ll make a plan to adjust my life to get it closer to my own version of that perfect day. This way, apart from learning a little more about myself, I can make some improvements for next year.

Next, apart from the usual “1-year” goal, I’d like to at least make an effort to write some “5-year” goals and – depending on how many goals come to my mind – maybe even some “lifetime goals” to answer how I’d like to offer the world something no one else can.

Oh, yeah, and one more thing: You are welcome to try it too!
