Whenever others ask me what I do for a living and find out I’m in the midst of building up a start-up, I often get asked questions like “OK, but so how do you earn enough money?” or “Can you even afford to go on vacation?” or even “How do you pay for going out to party on the weekend?”
Truth be told, I’m struggling to survive financially and working at a part-time job just to cover my rent expenses but getting to spend time working on an idea I believe in with a team of others from all over the world excites me and allows me to wake up with a smile on my face in the morning. Of course living on the edge can get frustrating and I miss not having to calculate how much money I have left to spend on food or the occasional 3h bus ride home to visit my family but this is a sacrifice I’m more than willing to make if it will get me even just one tiny step closer to making a difference in the world. That’s my reality. That’s the real deal.
